Kanapur is a small village in the outskirts of Nizamabad town in Telangana state.
The main profession was agriculture and cattle rearing but the new generation populace are mostly employed in town an city based professions and agriculture activities has reduced drastically over a decade.
The program started with grama kirtan which concluded in the village Hanuman temple. After a short kirtan, there was a speech on importance of reading and practicing Bhagavad gita, every one chanted one round of Mahamantra and there was oath taking for protecting cow. Later a team devotees visited to villagers who were having cows in their house. The villagers were astonished here the multiple benefits of keeping the cows. The program concluded with kirtan and prasad distribution.
There was also a program conducted in the village school. Whole staff in the school received us enthusiastically. The planned one hour program ended up to be a three hours session with lots of participation of the children and teachers in various topics discussed.
Total of 15 maha books distributed and 11 signed for chanting the holy names.
