Sriman Guduru Kautilya Krishnan
hails from the State of Telangana in India.

He completed his Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Osmania University, Hyderabad.

He specializes in ancient traditional methods of farming following sastric guidelines as given in books like 1) Krishi Parashara (Agriculture by Parashara), 2) Kashyapiya’s Krsnasukti (A Treatise in Agriculture), and 3) Surapala’s Vrikshayurveda (The Science of Plant Life).

On October 25, 2018, he successfully organized the Cattle Festival/Laguda Pratipat invoking the Spirit of Vedic Farming for Global Auspiciousness. Participants from various organizations took part in the historical event.

Kautilya continues his research in ancient traditional practices by visiting various libraries that still have original Samhitas (ancient texts) of our Vedic literature relating to natural agriculture.

He has uncovered rare and near-extinct varieties of desi seeds by visiting some of the tribals in various remote areas of India.

Kautilya has conducted several seminars and workshops on Vedic Farming and has inspired numerous farmers to revive traditional farming practices.

Among some of the varieties he recommends are 1) white basmati/Kashmir, 2) black basmati/Chattishgarh, 3) brown seeds/Pancharatna, 4) Burma black, 5) red rice/Navara. He encourages farmers to keep their original seeds by promoting the concept of Seed Bank.

Kautilya has reintroduced three important Vedic practices to enhance the quality and quantity of rice production.

The first involves the performance of a Vedic yajna (fire sacrifice) invoking auspiciousness through the recitation of Vedic Mantras and the use of pure ghee (clarified butter) from which both the smoke and ashes from the fire produce chemical nutrients in the soil and atmosphere.

The second involves choosing the Vedic astrological time charts in keeping with the movements of the moon since the rays of the moon are what nourishes and provides the Rasa (taste) to the plants in the soil from the moment the seeds are placed in the soil.

The third Vedic practice involves using water sparingly and in less quantity to allow the seeds and the plants to become more resistant to pests and adverse weather conditions.

All these scientific practices together result in overall better production, less physical effort and no exploitation of Mother Bhumi.
