Today, January 15, 2019, on the most auspicious day of Makara Sankranti, a group of 11 enthusiastic students from the States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are traveling to South Karnataka by train (a 16 hour journey) to join Module I of the Sahyadri Varnasrama College to be held at the Sahyadri Sri Krishna Balarama Ksetra (SSKBK) Campus.

Travelling with them is the main Faculty Member, HG Hari Kirtan das, IDVM-India National Director for Rural Development, who has been offering the course every January for a few weeks.

The primary aim of the Varnasrama College is to help fulfil Srila Prabhupada’s desire that every temple/project introduce both the theoretical concepts and as well as the practical application of these concepts in a rural environment line SSKBK.

Other Modules of similar courses will later be given at other Varnasrama projects in other States.

From Penang in Malaysia, one devotee who organized a Cow Culture Conference in October 2018, Jonson Chong, will be joining the students to share his experiences about the OM Sri Surabhi Campaign that he promotes in Malaysia. He will also get first-hand observation on the Varnasrama College, something he is eager to introduce in Malaysia.

Those wishing to join this or other Modules can contact the Ministry’s Secretariat for further information.
