ISKCON Daiva Varnasrama Ministry, popularly known as IDVM-India was established in 2009 with an objective to establish Krishna Conscious rural communities and to encourage Varnasrama based rural development centred around Land, Cows and Krishna. To accomplish this IDVM-India has been carrying out several training programmes like Varnasrama College, organising seminars and conferences, publishing resource materials etc.
Varnasrama Book Trust (VBT), the publication wing of IDVM-India, was set up with an aim to spread awareness about the above-mentioned principles. VBT has printed more than 10 titles to promote varnasrama mission and awareness about it among the devotees and other people. However, these books are available mostly in the English language.
ISKCON Founder-Acharya, A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada encouraged printing of Krishna Conscious literature in different languages in order to reach out the maximum number of souls.
Make Vrindavan Village, VBT’s first publication and a path-breaking the book, which very lucidly and at the same time scientifically explains the varnasrama mission was taken up first. It is already available in a few more languages like Korean, Telugu and Bengali. With inspiration from His Holiness Bhakti Raghava Swami, a few devotees based in different geographies got together to translate the book in the Hindi language. Hindi, being the widely spoken, read and understood the language in the majority of the North Indian states, was a natural choice.
His Grace Shyamsundar Prabhu (Maharashtra), His Grace Rishi Kumar Prabhu (Kuwait), His Grace Ram Vijay Prabhu (Qatar) and His Grace Parsurama Prabhu (Delhi) participated in this service and made the Hindi translation possible. The translation of the book is complete and it will be launched on the auspicious day of Krishna Janmashtami this year. Incidentally, it also happens to be the 10th anniversary of the establishment of IDVM-India. Hindi version of the book will be available for users in the temple book stand as well as online.
The team is very enthusiastic and has already begun working on the second book Modernity is Killing Civilisation. Devotees are invited to come forward and help in the translation of the book in different languages so that we can speed up the work and its invaluable message can reach out to as many souls as possible.
