March 2, 2022 — ITS GARDENING TIME at PARASURAMA GURUKULA

Under the able guidance of our expert gardener HG Dhurlabha Krishna prabhu our Gurukula boys very enthusiastically engaged in a variety of gardening services from the very beginning of the month.

The following photos shows both the teacher and the students hands on and happily serving in both the Jagannath Gardens and the Gurukula Gardens.

With but a little effort from the devotees Mother Nature reciprocated nicely as seen by the varieties of produce.

March 7, 2022 — FIRE WOOD COLLECTION

Amar Krishna prabhu, temporarily replacing our Gurukula Headmaster Kurushrestha prabhu, took the boys to SSKBK for Agriculture seva. In the field they spread dry leaves on tender grass to avoid direct sunlight and transpiration ( water loss). This grass is being grow for Go Mata. On their way back from SSKBK they happily carried

March 12, 2022 — WATER CRISIS

Every year the months of March, April and May bring a special challenge for both drinking and bathing water. This presents a potential health hazard to our children.

This year both the Suvarna Rivulet that borders our Gurukula land and the Bhakti Kutir well dried somewhat earlier than expected. Had all the other wells begun last year been completed (the one in the Saura Vana and the one in Gurukula) we may not have faced this problem.

The immediate solution was to shift the boys to another location. And the longer solution is to complete both of the unfinished wells.

March 15, 2022 — SHIFTING TO KAMYAVAN

After consulting with various devotees, and after considering various options, it was decided that the Gurukula boys would shift to a relatively new project near Hyderabad called Kamyavan. Sri Rama prabhu who oversees the affairs of Kamyavan was happy to assist in this transition.

We can see how practically immediately the boys adjusted very nicely to their new home in Kamyavan. Under the able guidance of Sri Rama prabhu the boys took up various services at the farm as well as preaching activities in nearby villages.

March 24, — GURUKULA BOYS LEARN HAND SPINNING ART

Under the guidance of HG Ananta Tirtha prabhu and Hari Sauri prabhu, both actively promoting the traditional science and art of hand spinning, our 13 Gurukula boys who recently shifted to Kamyavan learnt the art of Handspinning yarn from Cotton in a 2 day workshop.

“They were like sponge, immediately absorbing as it was explained”, conveyed Ananta Tirtha prabhu.

Now the boys can make *Brahmin Thread*, and Cotton Wicks. The next important step will be teaching them weaving cloth, a plan in the making.
