Kishora Krishna das Prabhu and H.H Ramai Swami Maharaja giving lectures in a seminar at Mahendradata University, Denpasar Bali to the young students about Sacred of Cows and Bhagavad Gita as a tool in Era Globalization for Character Building.

In their mind a cow is an animal like any other animal that can supply its own needs. People are more interested with beef than milk, more interested with dogs and cats as their pets. They are more interested to use tractor for their farm than our bulls. Where is our intelligence? Where is our knowledge?

On the October 9th there was a good opportunity for us to explain about Mother Cow, Mother Surabhi and to bring  university students to know and understand more about cows. On that day, Mahendradatta University in Denpasar, Bali-Indonesia organized an International Seminar with the topics “Sacred of Cows in the Vedic Literature and Bhagavad Gita as a tool for Character Building in the Era of Globalization”. The two guest speakers for the event were two members of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, His Holiness Ramai Swami Maharaja who is GBC for Indonesia and Sriman Kishora Krishna das, senior brahmacari and Director of the recently established Indonesia Peduli Surabhi Network (IPSN). Some 50 students attended the seminar that was held in one of the seminar halls of the university.

Sriman Kishora Krishna das began the seminar by explaining how in Indonesia, most people don’t understand the need to protect cows. And as we know, Indonesia’s Muslim population being 88% (205 million) of the total population, so a lot of people still offer hundreds of thousands of cows in sacrifice every year.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”no” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_text]Our speaker Kishora Krishna das further explained: “How we can get good knowledge and purified intelligence if we are not honoring the cows? Cows give us milk and from that pure cows milk we get good intelligence, knowledge and we can survive nicely.” Some of the students were shocked to hear that cows can give us intelligence. They had never heard this before. Not only was the theory of cow protection explained but also the many benefits one can get from various cow products that students can use in their daily lives. Besides milk, one can still get many many benefits from the cows without having to kill her. Actually a cow is more valuable alive than dead, even if not giving milk. According to the medicinal science of Ayurveda as found in ancient Vedic sacred texts, cow urine can be distilled and transformed in a powerful medicine called Go Ark that is commonly used in India for curing many diseases and to maintain a sound health.

After the presentation on cow protection, His Holiness Ramai Swami Maharaja explained about our “catur varnasrama” social system (four natural divisions of society) that was created by God Himself, Lord Krishna, i.e. Brahmana, Ksatriya, Vaisya and Sudra. We can observe this natural division in modern society as well. For example, in every country we have intellectuals (such as teachers, priests, scientists, writers, etc.) that we call traditionally as “Brahmanas”. We also have people serving in the army or as police that we can call as “Ksatriyas” whose main duty is to administer and protect our country. Then we have people who produce food, farmers and businessmen whom we call as “Vaisyas”. In every country we also have people who engage in various physical work, know as “Sudras.”[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”yes” lightbox_image=”http://www.srisurabhi.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/bali-seminar5.jpg” style_type=”bottomshadow” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=””] [/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”20″ bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”” class=”” id=””/][fusion_text]
