(Based on the information provided by HG Hari Kirtan Das)
On the invitation of HG Rasaraj Prabhu, one of the attendees of ISKCON Leads in Nilachal Dham, Mumbai in April 2019, HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu accompanied and assisted by HG Vraj Vrindavan Prabhu travelled from Chirala to Delhi to conduct some seminars and lectures on behalf of ISKCON Daiva Vranasrama Ministry– India.
The duo left for Delhi on 13th June 2019. Observing the Pandava Nirjala Ekadasi Vrata, they arrived safely in Delhi on 15th June 2019 in early morning hours.
On the same day, in the afternoon they continued their journey from East of Kailash ISKCON temple to Punjabi Bagh ISKCON temple. The first seminar entitled “Becoming Truly Rich” was conducted in the ISKCON Punjabi Bagh started at 07:00 PM. The seminar was participated by the congregational devotees and a few brahmacaris. There were around 20 devotees who attended the seminar. Attendance was less as most of the congregation had gone out on yatra. By the end of the seminar, two varnasrama books were sold and IDVM– India pamphlets distributed.
Attendees gave positive feedback and showed interest in being a part of Varnasrama mission programs. HG Vishnu Vahana Prabhu, the organizer of the program, gave generous hospitality. Punjabi Bagh ISKCON temple president HG Rukmini Krishna Prabhu (he also was an attendee of IDVM – India seminars a few years ago through ISKCON Leads program) appreciated the presentation and also many IDVM – India initiatives. He also agreed to start a Varnasrama Research Team (VRT) department in the temple.
On the 16th June 2019, after the mangal aarati and japa in Punjabhi Bagh temple, they went to Katwaria Sarai preaching base. There were around 60 congregation devotees (mostly involved in teaching profession) and brahmacaris assembled to attend the seminar on “Kids Care – Vedic Education”. It was an intense course of six hours with three breaks. The seminar was very interactive with PowerPoint Presentation and group discussions. There were long question and answer sessions as many concepts were very new to the participants. There was interesting written and oral feedback. HG Rasaraj Prabhu announced that there will be more follow-up programs after seeing the interest of the congregation devotees. The congregation in that part of Delhi started a play school for devotee kids a few years ago. They were keen to adopt Vedic alternatives. Three varnasrama books were sold there and IDVM – India pamphlets distributed at the end of the seminar.
On 17th June 2019, after the Mangala arati in East of Kailash ISKCON temple, HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu along with HG Vraj Vrindavan Prabhu headed to LodaSarai preaching base. There were around 30 congregation devotees and base students who attended the Srimad Bhagavatam class given by HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu. The class had a discussion on Snana Yatra Utsav, Vedic culture and Varnasrama education. Here also there was good feedback. Some of the students who had agricultural background were inspired to do something related to the traditional occupation in their respective villages.
Later in the afternoon, HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu was asked to give the weekly brahmacari class. The class was based on verse 1.13.46 from Srimad Bhagavatam. The discussion went on to choosing to be in satvik environment and later the topic shifted to live in a brahmacari ashram, health concerns, etc. They ended the session by teaching some yoga asanas and giving health tips. The brahmacaris gave positive feedback with a few of them suggesting to develop brahmacari ashram in a more natural set up.
Later in the evening, they headed to another preaching base in Berasarai. There were around 30 members assembled. Most of them were pursuing college studies with very few of them as working men. HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu again gave some speech on “Becoming Truly Rich”. There were interesting discussions on the prospects of taking up agriculture as the prime profession. As soon as the session ended, they rushed to board the train for the return journey amidst heavy rain.
A few words from HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu expressing his gratitude to those who were involved to make all the above-mentioned seminars and classes successful:
- Thanks to HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaj who has been consistently guiding and encouraging me to learn, apply and preach different aspects of Varnasrama Dharma mission which are distinctly presented by Srila Prabhupada.
- Thanks to ISKCON Dehli temple for bearing the travel, boarding and lodging expenses.
- Thanks to HG Subudhi Rai Prabhu who gave warm hospitality in East of Kailash ISKCON temple.
- Thanks to HG Subhanadahari Prabhu who coordinated the whole programs and was instrumental in arranging different programs.
- Thanks to HG Rasraj Prabhu who personally dropped both of them at the railway station.
And on behalf of IDVM – India we sincerely thanking HG Hari Kirtan Prabhu for his hard work to push forward the Daiva Varnasrama mission.
