Devotees at Ganga Sagara Baru (GSB) in the Province of Kalimantan, Indonesia, have put 70 hectares of their 125 hectares under paddy cultivation in a government supported scheme to increase crop production in the area and provide employment to local farmers.

The devotee heading up the project at GSB (New Ganga Sagara), Sundar Gopal prabhu, applied for the government assistance and after being approved now heads up a team of some 20 local villagers in systematically growing crops.

His eldest son Ganga is seen here harvesting some fruits from the mature coconut trees.

Devotees also plant pineapples that grow well in their soil. Rice cultivation is the main crop in the area making the devotees fully self-sufficient in grains and vegetables.

Sundar Gopal prabhu has seen harvesting oranges that also grow well in the area.

Devotees also maintain a few cows from whom they use the cow urine and cow dung as natural fertilizers.

Anyone interested to visit or join this project may contact Kisora prabhu who helps oversee the project. He may be contacted at kisorakrsna@yahoo.com
