On May 24th 2016, the Surabhi Campaign team lead by HH Bhakti Raghava Swami visited the Cows Home Goshala in the New Territory of Hong Kong,  about one hour from the ISKCON Temple located in Kowloon.

The owner of this Goshala is one Chinese lady, and she has only one worker, an employee from Bangladesh. We started our trip from the temple at 9.30 am by taxi. We went with 6 devotees, Maharaja, Prabhu Kisora Krishna from Indonesia, myself, Guna Avatara das, and two Hong Kong devotees, Jayasri Mataji and Marorani Mataji. In addition we also had one Indonesian mataji who lives in Hong Kong, Lalea Eka Mataji. The weather was good, only the pathway in the Goshala was quite muddy due to recent rains.

We were so happy to get darshan of 160 cows, bulls and calves. All were very friendly, and we were able to touch some of them and hug them. These cows live on only one hectare of land that is protected by an iron fence to prevent the cows from running outside. For food, the cows and bulls get first class grass that the lady purchases by crater from the USA. Needless to say, she loves her cows. She gives them all a name and is seen always talking with them. We heard her saying, “hey don’t fight with your brothers”, like that she spoke to the bulls.

We introduced the OM Sri Surabhi Campaign to that lady and gave her our pamphlet. She was very happy with our visit and she could understood that Maharaja is the personality who loves cows very much. Most of the time she enjoyed discussing in Chinese language with our devotees. At the end we did a little worship to the cows by offering them grass and by singing the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. So hopefully we can visit her again in the future as part of our Global OM Sri Surabhi Campaign.

Thank you,

Your servant,

Gunaavatara dasa
