The Narasimhapally Farm is an private undertaking by congregational members from both Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the State of Telangana (formally Andhra Pradesh) in South India.
The original cows were rescued cows and have been staying within the 38 acres farm property since the last two years. Devotees from the Twin-Cities have been regularly visiting the land and have planted and harvested two crops of rice and millet along with some small quantity of vegetables.
Two new calves were born two days apart about one week back and before that another calf was born, now about 6 months old. The young and only male calf we see is BALARAM whose father is from the Ongole breed. At one year of age, BALARAM is already very stout and strong and will gradually become the natural leader of the herd. At the request of the local devotees we named the three young calves as GANGA, YAMUNA and GODHAVARI.
During the day the cows along with Balaram freely graze within the 38 acres and at night take rest under the banyan tree also named as Balaram. As can be seen by the photos all the cows and Balaram are very healthy. They are not inclined to take other food other than what grows naturally on the land. Devotees plan to begin Phase I of their Master Plan to have at least two families residing on the land before the end of the ISKCON Golden Jubilee year that will end in December 2016.
