The next day was not expected to be smooth; the battle was now on foreign turf. Most of the city devotees had returned the previous night to resume their regular city lifestyles- working for corporate companies or businesses. However, their hearts and prayers were for the devotees left behind trying to fulfill the desire of their acarya. With the desire to join them on weekends they left.
For the devotees who had chosen to stay behind included Sripati prabhu, Gour Gopal prabhu, Ram Lakshman prabhu, Jananivas prabhu, and Satya Madhava prabhu. Their austerities had just begun with the approach of new villages, but nothing could dampen their spirit and enthusiasm to serve their guru and Srila Prabhupada. Though most of them were city based, yet they were ready to take to simple life sans comfort. Austerity is a devotee’s ornament and they were all adorned with that.
In any village yatra, one should not expect a comfortable house with a bed to rest or basic amenities like bathrooms or toilets. Life has to be in sync with nature, answering the natural call before the sun rises. One of the Yatra devotees, completely new to village life went out to relieve himself carrying water in a plastic bottle.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container background_color=”” background_image=”” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_webm=”” video_mp4=”” video_ogv=”” video_preview_image=”” overlay_color=”” overlay_opacity=”0.5″ video_mute=”yes” video_loop=”yes” fade=”no” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” padding_top=”0″ padding_bottom=”0″ padding_left=”0″ padding_right=”0″ hundred_percent=”no” equal_height_columns=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” menu_anchor=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]When the time came to use the water, he was surprised to see the bottle empty. They were naturally more or less situated in mode of goodness. Their simple hearts naturally drew them towards the devotees and the lectures. The villagers were surprised to see Lord Jagannath and were curious to know why His legs were invisible, hands shrunken inside and eyes dilated. It interested them to learn that Lord Jagannathji was non-different from Lord Krishna and their worshipable Lord Sri Ram. Mahamantra was completely unheard of. Yet almost all the villagers were attracted to the Mahamantra and the devotees wearing dhoti–kurtas, with bright tilak on their faces, singing and dancing in their village street with Jagannath-Baldev-Subhadra sitting on a chariot and Srila Prabhupada monitoring the service.
They showed keen interest in organic farming and wanted to know more about it. Convinced by words of wisdom given by devotees on cow protection, goseva, they happily pledged to not to sell the bull calves to anybody. The documentary movie on Mother Cow further cemented their faith and commitment. They wanted to know more and more about panchgavya products as they purchased them keenly. Interestingly, the huge crowd comprised primarily of farmers, women and youth- all playing very important role in defining the spiritual health of a society. Farmers are the ones who define the consciousness of the people as they supply food to everybody, women being the first guru of a child are the backbone of any household and youth are the future of a civilization. Thus, if these three are enlightened, spiritual erosion can be immediately stopped.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_2″ last=”yes” spacing=”yes” center_content=”no” hide_on_mobile=”no” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” background_position=”left top” border_size=”0px” border_color=”” border_style=”” padding=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”” animation_speed=”0.1″ class=”” id=””][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”yes” lightbox_image=”http://www.srisurabhi.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/22694818565_1b7a9c6a89_o.jpg” style_type=”bottomshadow” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=””] [/fusion_imageframe][fusion_separator style_type=”none” top_margin=”20″ bottom_margin=”” sep_color=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” class=”” id=””/][fusion_imageframe lightbox=”yes” lightbox_image=”http://www.srisurabhi.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/22694986445_33720bb772_o.jpg” style_type=”bottomshadow” bordercolor=”” bordersize=”0px” borderradius=”0″ stylecolor=”” align=”center” link=”” linktarget=”_self” animation_type=”0″ animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”1″ hide_on_mobile=”no” class=”” id=””] [/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][fusion_text]The next big hit in the program was Harinam.
